I’d already posted this, but am re-doing some site architecture, so here it is again!
This scone recipe is inspired by and adapted from Alice’s wonderful scones here. I received the recipe in a holiday card recipe exchange and I love how they are moist and flaky–the perfect texture for a scone! This is to be expected: Alice knows her stuff since she lived in England for a time.
I wanted something different for breakfast (aside from the normal eggs and fruit) since we have a lazy post-holiday morning together as a family. I didn’t want anything sweet, though, and so the extra-sharp aged Cheddar cheese in the fridge seemed like a good scone filling. I could see adding some chopped bacon in the future as well!
