I think Mercury is in retrograde or some shenanigans like that: I didn’t have internet for a couple days because our provider incorrectly cut off our service; I almost ran over a little boy who ran in front of my car the other day (oh thank god that worked out okay); and I have 21 deadlines over the weekend when I really just want to hang with my hubs and the noodles.
Wah wah, I know, but I prepared this recipe just before the madness began and sampled the dessert in the midst of it. Part of the shenanigans is that I found it only okay. I think I need to make it again, frankly. I feel like I missed something. I used high-quality bittersweet chocolate, but I may not have caramelized the sugar long enough. It was smoking a bit and deep amber–it kind of reminded me of the beginnings of the spicy caramel popcorn recipe I love in Craft of Baking. But, I wanted more salted caramel flavor. It wasn’t super-fab for me, though by no means terrible!
I’m so glad everyone else loves it so much and seeing that makes me positive I’ll try it again!
