I ran a bit behind with the first recipe for this month and then had the opportunity to make them both the same day!
Garlic mayo with accompaniments. I enjoyed this on a warm September Saturday. I appreciated everyone’s feedback on the mayo. I only did 1 cup of oil to 2 egg yolks and I do wish I’d added the garlic at the end instead of the beginning of the process. It was still a different consistency than I prefer and certainly different from my normal homemade mayo. I do wonder if also adding the garlic early on affects things since I usually do add-ins post-emulsion.
Financiers. Oh these were delicious. So easy to make and bake with a silicone mini-muffin pan–indeed, I believe I bought said pan after making Dorie’s financiers and having a bit of trouble with the size. Buttery and almond-y, these were quite the little treat for us and so easy to snack on! Perhaps a bit too easy, haha.
