CtBF: not a flan fan

Our selections for this month from both cookbooks made for, what I thought, would be a fun dinner. So, I made them all one night (except I forgot about the Extra Edition pork sausage)! I was especially happy to share 2 of the recipes–the leeks and the spiced speculoos flan–because I’m not a hard-boiled egg or flan fan.

CtBF MPK: French onion soup

I almost forgot to make this one–and it’s a good thing I didn’t. I remembered mid-week, so I dutifully made sure I had enough onions and got some gruyère. I actually broke up the cooking of this dish into 2 nights, which worked well!

Welcome!

I teach at a university in the West and I cook. I study French stuff, when I have my research hat on, so I also like French food. I've lived in Paris (in the 6ème) and there, as here, I tend to cook for myself. I actually prefer baking, but there's all those calories, you know. I also like wine a lot. It's important to me to eat good food and drink good wine. That last is the fun part. The work of cooking? It's all about the stress relief. Well, that and trying to procrastinate on grading!
